Step 1. Understand what’s on the exam
The exam guide contains a list of topics that may be assessed in the beta exam. Review the exam guide to determine if your knowledge aligns with the topics on the exam.
Step 2. Refresh your knowledge
If you have knowledge gaps, we recommend reading the training guide and exploring he WordPress VIP Learn courses. Platform‑specific WordPress VIP content not relevant to the exam is clearly flagged within the courses.
Step 3. Do a practice quiz with sample questions
Evaluate your readiness with a short practice quiz. The help page details how to review your answers.
Step 4. Choose the exam delivery method
The Advanced Professional WordPress Developer exam is delivered globally at Kryterion’s global test center network (KTN) as well as online through Kryterion’s online proctoring (OLP) service, Webassessor.
You can take the exam remotely or in a test center. Read about the testing requirements for both exam delivery options.
Step 5. Read the Test Taker Terms
Please read the Terms of Service which will be also presented before you purchase, and begin the exam.
Schedule your Exam
Access Webassessor to create an account and schedule the exam.
- Create a new account. Please ensure that your name matches the ID you will use to verify yourself before taking the exam.
- After logging in, go to the Register for an Exam tab and select the Advanced Professional WordPress Developer Certification Exam.
Choose your preferred delivery method—online or onsite proctored and purchase the exam. - Once your purchase is complete, you may schedule your exam.
How to Take the Online Exam
Online Proctored exams may be taken at home or work, but require a quiet, distraction free area.
At Least One Day Before Your Exam

Please visit the My Assessments tab in Webassessor and complete these three preparation steps at least one day before your scheduled exam time.

- Enroll in Biometrics
- Take the readiness exam
The readiness exam guides candidates through a simulated Online Proctored exam launch.
It verifies that the Respondus Secure Browser is installed correctly, checks internet speed, confirms the camera and microphone are functioning, and ensures the exam experience is likely to run smoothly with minimal issues.

A Note about Keyboards
This exam is supported by Standard English keyboards only. If you are using a non-English keyboard please go to the Microsoft or Apple support pages for instructions on modifying your keyboard to ensure a successful exam launch.
How to Launch your Exam
- Ensure that you have installed the secure browser and set up your Biometric Profile at least one day prior to your scheduled exam time.
- Have a mobile phone charged and available for the dual camera requirement.
- Clear your testing area, remove distractions and any unauthorized electronic devices.
- Log into Webassessor with your account at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled exam time.
- Click the “My Assessments” tab.
- Then click the “Launch” button to the right of the exam name to start.

Reschedule
Please visit the Account and Scheduling section in Kryterion’s Help Center.
No Shows and Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule an exam through your Webassessor portal with no additional fee up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled exam time.
No Shows, Cancellations and Reschedules within 24 hours of your scheduled exam time will incur an additional fee or the forfeiture of your exam fee altogether. Exam fees, vouchers or coupons used to pay for the exam will not be refunded for sessions canceled without proper notice.
